People nowadays are very particular on the numerical values of calories and cholesterols in foods. Are they really bad for the health? They are the good cholesterol (High Density Lipoprotein/HDL) and the bad cholesterol (Low Density Lipoprotein/LDL). The LDL are the enemies of our body since they are the ones filing-up and blocking the blood vessels leading to hypertension and heart attacks. Plant-based foods are the abundant sources of the HDL.

Peanut butter is an example of food that has rich source of good and friendly cholesterols. They are the ones protecting the blood vessels from the injuries such as atherosclerosis (clogged arteries) in effect, heart attack and stroke are prevented. COOKIE’S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY (PANNA COTTA)

Ingredients:

•1L milk
•150ml All Purpose Cream
•1cup cookies peanut butter spread
•1tsp vanilla essence
•25g powdered gelatin, unflavored
•¼ white sugar

Garnish:
3tbsp dark chocolate
3pcs Mint Leaves

Procedure:
1. Bloom the gelatin in hot water
2. Combine with milk, cream, and peanut butter. Put in a blender and blend until smooth
3. Transfer in pan, add in sugar and vanilla. Heat until the sugar is dissolved. Whisk in the gelatin until completely dissolved
4. Strain into ramekins and put inside the chiller for it to set
5. Serve topped with dark chocolate and mint.
